Serendipity
is located at stables north of Grimes and south of Granger, IA. We
serve individuals, groups and corporations in west central Iowa. We
provide a vast array of horse related services, including: balanced
seat horseback riding lessons- English & Western, carriage driving
lessons, Camp Serendipity: a girls' summer horse camp, horse related
clinics, seminars and corporate retreat functions.
Historically,
the horse has been a powerful tool for change. In today's hectic society,
the horse can be a highly effective tool to reduce stress and provide for
powerful personal growth. The importance of the horse as a
facilitator for improving the human psyche
is highlighted by the billion dollar horse industry, growth in clinics
featuring 'horse whisperers' and therapeutic riding centers
worldwide. Ask any horse owner, "When the going gets tough,
where do you head?" The answer will most likely be, "The
barn."

The Circle of
Awareness
|
|
The
cornerstones of the philosophy of Serendipity are increased awareness,
enhanced communication and improved self esteem. Using a technique we
call the Circle of Awareness, Serendipity instructors, counselors and
clinicians use horses and horse related activities to help our clients become
mindful of their body and thought processes in communicating to and
interacting with the horse. The horse will then respond to the client
and send a clear message back to the staff member, completing the cycle of
communication. By connecting the client to the horse in this manner,
the client feels a greater sense of connection to self, thus increasing
self esteem.
The
dynamics of Serendipity's Circle of Awareness is relevant to everyone from
busy executives who want to enhance their style of management to horse
crazy kids needing focus, balance and confidence.
